01You know what you are walking into
Private land is not a managed site. There are holes, ditches, wire, machinery, wells, unstable ground, ticks, snakes and livestock. Nobody is inspecting it for your benefit and nobody is supervising you.
02You are responsible for yourself
You are fit to do this, you have the equipment you need, and you have told somebody where you are going. You accept the risk of injury, illness and loss or damage to your own equipment.
03Digging safely
Call 811 before you dig anywhere near a property boundary, a building, a track or a utility marker. Buried services are not always where the map says. If a signal is large, deep and ferrous near old military ground, do not dig it, mark it and report it.
04The landowner
The landowner is letting you on for a fee, not taking charge of your safety. You will not hold them responsible for injury or loss except where it is caused by their own recklessness or deliberate act, and nothing here waives a right you cannot waive by law.
05FieldFinders
We introduce and we keep the record. We do not inspect land, supervise visits or insure you. Consider your own accident and liability cover.
06What you leave behind
Every hole filled, every gate as you found it, every piece of trash out with you. If you damage something, tell the landowner the same day and put it right.
